About

The origin of the knife lies somewhere in the Stone Age.  In 1991, when a group of German tourists discovered the preserved carcass of “Otzi the Iceman,” a Stone Age hunter whose body was estimated to 5,300 years old, it had a flint knife with it. Otzi likely spent months molding that knife, chipping it away from rock until it was shaped to perfection.

Today, knives are much easier to come by, but still just as important, whether they’re being used to open a box or gut a deer carcass.

The Cutting Edge is the  official blog of Knife Depot, an online knife store that sells over 10,000 knives.  Our goal is to provide a stockpile of knife information from product profiles to historical trivia in order to sharpen up your knife knowledge.
