Gerber LMF II

Whether you’re smashing through a window to save a trapped loved one, chopping up kindling for a campfire, or escaping from behind enemy lines, this week’s Badass Knife of the Week is the tool you want by your side.

The Gerber LMF II Infantry is one of the most popular and respected military/survival knives of the past few decades and consistently lives up to its reputation as a solid all-around knife.

This tough-as-nails survival knife features a 420HC stainless steel drop point blade with serrations. The blade itself is 4.84 inches long and surprisingly thick, which gives it the strength and size needed for easy adaptability.

Further down on the knife, a glass-filled nylon handle with TPV overmold offers a comfortable and secure grip.

And if you think this knife isn’t strong, think again. Engineered by former military man Jeff Freeman, the more than 10-inch survival knife underwent rigorous field-testing by troops.

The Gerber LMF II is as versatile as your imagination will allow. It can slice through seat belts, cut firewood, hammer down stakes with the shock-absorbing butt cap, convert into a spear via lashing holes, and so much more.

Not only does the LMF II come with a ballistic nylon sheath with a fire retardant coating but it also comes in different versions and handle colors, including the LMF II Survival Knife in Coyote Brown (pictured right).
