Badass Knife of the Week: HK 14715SBK

HK 14715 Axis

With a motto like “No Compromise,” it’s no surprise that a Heckler & Koch knife is the latest Badass Knife of the Week.

As an industry leader in military and law enforcement products, HK turned to Benchmade to create its edged tools and ended up with the imposing HK 14715SBK. Perfect for heavy-duty use and urban tactical carry, the knife’s design combines many of Benchmade’s best qualities.

The focal point of the HK 14715 is the 3.69-inch clip point blade made of high-quality D2 steel, which is known for its durability and ability to hold an edge.

This particular version of the knife, the HK 14715SBK, features a sleek black BK finish that adds some corrosion resistance to the blade and serrations. It’s also available without serrations.

Opening with ambidextrous dual thumb studs, the knife includes the highly renowned AXIS locking mechanism. A patented Benchmade design, the AXIS lock gives the 14715 enough strength for the most hard-core tasks without fear of failure.

The handle of the knife is deceptively simple. The black G-10 scales create an extremely grippy texture that keeps the knife in your hand in wet and slippery situations. A finger groove with some tapering into the handle and a slight curve adds comfort.

Jimping along the spine and both sides of the butt offers more nuanced control over the blade for finer tasks, even when held in a reverse grip.

The USA-made HK 14715, which is the perfect carry for everyone from military personnel to casual users, proves its worth with a well-executed design and focus on strength and quality.
