Years ago in high school I saw a demo of the Kukri with an explanation how the forward weighted blade enabled the user to completely sever the head of livestock with one blow. All these years I have thought that if I ever got the chance to own one, I'd take it. At the asking price of under $30, I felt I couldn't pass it up.
When I received the knife, I couldn't believe such quality! The length is short enough to be used as a hunting knife
and long enough to be used as a machete
. Short of a firearm, I can't think of anything I'd feel safer with as far as personal protection is concerned!
The scabbard is not leather, but the nylon is more than adequate. I expect to get plenty of use from it and then pass it along to my grandson. It is one of the very best purchases I ever made!
