Customer Reviews: Cold Steel Knives PVC Handle Kukri Machete w/Sheath

Average Customer Review:

Great tool

  The A. from washington

Of very sturdy construction. The grip is not the most comfortable, being hard plastic, but is not uncomfortable either. The blade could be sharper but would be easily sharpened in half an hour or so. The weight is very good, balance being prejudiced to the front to make swing more forceful. All in all a good machete

  Jen R. from NJ

I am impressed with the quality of this knife. The shape and color make if very unique.

  David F. from Portland, OR

Good shape. Nice and heavy. Dull as the class bully.

Bill H. from North Royalton, Ohio

I purchased the Cold Steel Kukri Machhete for an all around camping tool. I wanted a tool that would be a shovel for campfire and latrine pit digging and a light axe for chopping tinder for the fire. The Kukri does just that. I found the PVC handle comfortable when chopping and splitting tider. The blade is hardened steel but soft enough not to shatter while chopping branches and light wood. The Kukri is an excellent survial tool while hiking in the wilderness. If I could take only one tool on the trail, the Kukri would be it. Because the Kukri is intimidating, I use it in the widerness but prefer a hand axe and smaller knives in public camp grounds.

Realy good machette for the money.

Bobby F. from Union City, GA

Item ordered matched the description offered. Item received promptly and packaged well. I felt the pricing was in line with similar items viewed.

  Shane L. from Livingston, TX

I purchased a cold steel kukri machete and I leave it on my 4 wheeler and I never go into the woods without it. I find it very handy to have especially after the hurricane when I have to clear trails.I can cut down trees very easy that are 4 to 5 inches in width.

Karl H. from Laguna Beach, CA

Awesome tool. Works well with small brush and great for long roots when weeding.

  Joshua C. from Pittsburgh, PA

I love the way the knife works!

Dave P. from New Haven, CT

This is a functional, good sheath, and good value.

  Wade H. from Clintwood, OH

I used the machete for cutting through brier patches while surveying. I like the fact that it was somewhat smaller than the traditional machete I used before. It was much easier to use in tight spots. I could also make small trees fall with it in nearly the same amount of time as I could with my old machete.

  Jan S. from Coudersport, PA

It is very tough and the price is right.

  Gabe N. from Nampa, ID

The machete is very nice for cutting small trees for firewood.

Ralph C. from Cocoa Beach, FL

I love the shape of the blade and the feel of the knife.

  Juan R. from Miami, FL

This is an excellent machete for the price. It's easy to use and well balanced.

  Joe H. from Maryland

They put the sticker right on the side of the blade, which could be sharper. It looks cool though.

  Matt G. from Houston, TX

The Kukri Machete provides an interesting yet very functional blade for general utility around the yard. Its PVC handle allows for a comfortable grip while removing unwieldy underbrush. The overall look of the black cold steel knife has drawn interest from neighbors. Overall, a fine knife if a bit on the no frills side in terms of construction.

  Joseph W. from Pittsburgh, PA

What a great knife! Works well as a full tang light weight survival machete. The only problem I could see with the knife is that Cold Steel places a sticker on the blade, and while removing it removes only a very small portion of the blades baked on finish, this does not affect the quality of the knife.

  David I. from Rochester, NY

It works great and is the best knife I have bought in a long time!

Alan S. from Boise , ID

The Kukri,I love it! It took a little getting used to be at home with it in my hand. However the machete is a technique cutting tool and once you learn to use it the right way, it is amazing how sweet it really is. It sharpens very quickly and that is nice for me as I use it for a lot of different things. It is a very fun and usable Kukri machete at a very reasonable price. Thank You,Alan R Smith

  Charles H. from Virginia

It goes great with an emergency back-pack and eliminates the need for a cumbersome ax.

  Lukas P. from Vancouver, BC

This is an excellent value!

  Doc D. from Florida

This is a utility knife for everyday use in clearing light to medium vegetation. The handle of PVC is durable but required gloves to resist slipping in warm weather.

  Jera A. from Jackson, MS

Out of the box, this is a fine blade. Put an edge on it, let your wrist action do the work and you'll slice through 1 inch oak branches as if they were straw! Nice!!

  Daniel S. from Tampa, FL

This is a great knife and a multi use item!

  Bob F. from Escondido, CA

This is my first "gurka" style machete and I love it! It came with a mediocre edge on the blade, so I gave it a good edge. I use it in our avocado grove and it's weight makes cutting easy....not that avocado is hard wood, but when dry it's pretty tough and this machete works well. So far it holds an edge well. For a low priced machete it's a good buy!

  Bea R. from Corvallis, OR

There are no frills but it is functional! It is good steel: I zinged a rock full on and very little damage. It will take a nice edge. I ground off some of the handle on upper aspect of butt as it chafed my palm. It is a good value! Thanks K.D.

  Velkin S. from California

This weapon has saved my life more than once. The ninja I am battle with ambush me at a moment's notice. When I need a fast and dependable blade, this is it.

  Kevin S. from Boise, ID

The Kukri Machete is everything I need in a pack tool. It can cut, chop, split and dig. It's also a great defense tool. I won't go into the hills without it.

  Dan R. from Redding, CA

I haven't put it to the test yet but balance is very good and solid!

  Jjohn P. from Bethlehem, PA

This is a great machete! The handle is comfortable and there is enough weight to pack a punch. I bought this to take on the hiking trail as an all purpose tool and it has worked well. The blade was not as sharp as I prefer but a few minutes with a diamond stone and it is now perfect. It is very sharp out of the package, but I prefer razor sharp and this took the edge well.
