Good Machete for sod work

I bought the Cold Steel Heavy Machete after reading several other reviews and have not been disapointed. I bought it to clean out brush and scrub trees after my long-bladed Ontario Machete proved to be far too light to do a proper job. The extra weight at the end of the blade means that the machete and not me is doing most of the work. I've had to sharpen it once, but that is perfectly acceptable considering what I was asking it to do. Do put a wrist cord through the end of the handle to keep it from getting away. If you have heavy clearing to do, this is the tool to do it.

I purchased the heavy duty machete to clear heavy underbrush, vines, that grow on our property. We are located in deep woods in NC. The machete does an incredible job on small trees, branches, undergrowth, etc. It is better than a long thin machete.

It works. I swing it and the vegetation falls!

This purchase was made as a Christmas gift for a friend that has an overgrown back yard. He loved the gift and said he would use it to his advantage. The quality of the machete was much better than expected.

The blade is just the right weight and I love the shape. It just needs a lanyard to come with it.

My machete was stolen out of my truck over a year ago and I looked all over for a new work machete. This type of machete was hard to find. Thanks

The machete is a good size but the problem I have is with the grip. It needs finger cutouts to improve the feel in your hand and it did not come with a sheath. I know the price of the machete was low but Iwould increase it to add a good nylon sheath.

Great, just what I wanted for cutting a walking path through the woods. It does need a wrist holder on the handle.
