Customer Reviews: Woodman's Pal Premium Plus Machete with Cordura Sheath and Honing Stone

Christopher W. from Hudson, WIVery effective in clearing various types of underbrush on my wooded property. The construction is first-rate and craftsmanship outstanding. Thanks for producing such a fine product.

K J. from Seattle, WALooks mean! It's very sharp and comfortable to hold. Haven't had a chance to go out and use it yet, (Seattle rain)but I can't wait!

Deb P. from Harrison, MTWhat impressed me the most was the excellent quality and the fact that it is actually made in the USA.

Marilyn H. from Del Norte, COI bought this as a gift. The receiver was very pleased with the knife. He had been wanting one and was thrilled with it.

Thomas B. from Oregonia , OHExcellent tool. I should have bought one long ago.

William M. from Mobile, AlabamaGreat service

William D. from Carpinteria, CAGreat quality at a great price. Truly, a must buy for any outdoorsman.

Matamela M. from South AfricaGreat knife!

Art G. from Palm Desert,CAIt is a good weight and is very comfortable. Also comes sharp unlike most cutting implements. The price is worth it.

James M. from Franklin, TNProduct and service beyond expectations. I highly recommend it to everyone.

William K. from Brookville, PAThis is a first class tool. The fit and finish are more than adequate but the variety of tasks that can be handled with this implement is were one finds the true value. One of the best buys I have ever made. This truly is the jack of all trades in the knife world. This knife is tough and well constructed and will give years of good service. I have all confidence in the woodman's pal as an all around survival tool and plan on taking it on every outing into the wilderness from here on out.

Milt S. from West Chester, PAVery helpful tool on my property. Have cleared out some areas, and intend to do more this winter. It is well designed, with excellent quality control.

Aron R. from OregonI'm still learning to use it, but so far I find it no better, and in some cases worse, than a regular machete. I use it to clear trails of blackberry and small elderberry trees. The machete has a longer reach and lighter blade, and cuts more cleanly. Perhaps with time I'll learn to love this, but not yet.

Rachel H. from Ketchikan, AKIt works great for cutting trail when we go hunting or hiking.

Alex R. from Pulaski, VINot only is the item outstanding but your price was the best around.

Thomas B. from Franklin , TNThe best tool for the outdoorsman that has ever been made.I don't go hunting, camping or hiking without it. When you put the woodsman's pal on you are ready for whatever nature brings.

Joel C. from Westland, MIRecently, I decided to build a garage. In addition to a chainsaw and a pair of heavy duty pruning shears, I finally bought myself a Woodman's Pal. I have wanted one for years, but never really had a good reason--as if a male needs a reason to purchase another tool... I bought it mostly because of its looks--efficient. The large heavy blade with the hook made it look like it would do limbing and brush clearing more effectively than the pruning shears. I was right! After downing evergreens, birches, and many softwood poplars, the Woodman's Pal was faster for limbing than the shears and often faster and easier to use than the chainsaw for branches up to 1.5 inches in diameter. It is well balanced and not too heavy. After heavy use, just a couple passes with my diamond file makes it sharp enough to shave with. trees. Lastly, it would make a formidable defensive weapon if you aroused any animal's interest in the woods. A great tool at a very reasonable price.

Tim L. from Missoula, MTIt is an excellent tool for cutting brush and small trees. This is a professional brush cutting friend and my first Woodsman's Pal.

Steve J. from New Jersey, NYIt is a well crafted. I really like it!

Phil D. from Brea, CAThis is outstanding quality and workmanship. It is an excellent camping/survival tool with more uses than a standard hatchet or camp ax.

Charles K. from Golden, COA very well constructed instrument that will prove to be essential for any type of camp.

Lizzy B. from Fall River, MAI love the Woodman's Pal...it sure has been a Pal to me.....I was able to cut with a single swipe and the blade remained very sharp....I used the honing stone but really didn't need to!

David S. from Butler, PANOT ONLY TALKS THE TALK BUT WALKS THE WALK ALSO. GOOD TO VERY GOOD ON IT'S ABILITY TO CUT LIMBS SHRUBS BRAMBLES AND BRIAR'S.

Robert C. from Alexandria, VAI have been using the woodman's pal for trail building and have been cutting limbs 3 inches in diameter, and green blow down 4 inches thick. An excellent tool, easy to use!

Eli G. from Country Club Hills, ILThis product is really great!

David H. from Nicholville, NYEverything is excellent!

Rebecca C. from Philadelphia, PAExcellent!

Rob B. from Holland, MAThis is an excellent tool and very well made! BUY ONE!

John T. from CaliforniaI have been wanting one of these for some time. We are very happy with the quality and the shipping was very prompt.

David R. from Mansfield, LAWhen I buy something, no matter what it is, my first priority is dependability and longevity. With that said, more times than not that includes a hefty price tag. However, in the past I have spent fifty dollars spanning the course of three months for three different machetes, all of which I destroyed in a couple of days. Mind you, all I did was what the tool was designed to do. I am six foot three inches tall and two hundred and forty pounds, and can run like the wind.....very athletic for my size and I have been lifting weights for fifteen years. Basically, I bend cheaper machetes just removing two inch brush. The woodsman's pal is built like I am, like a brick house if you know what I'm saying. I can honestly say that this tool will last longer than I.

Larry F. from Chesterland, OHI purchased the Woodman's Pal machete to help in clearing a field of small trees (up to 3" trunk, 5'-15'height), wild roses and blackberry bushes. It turned out to be as handy as I anticipated from testimonials.

Kane G. from Houston, TXThe machete is a fine piece of work! Everything was excellent!

Bryan R. from Baltimore, MDIt worked wonderfully. I thought it was odd that they left the very outer edge unsharpened until I slammed it into the dirt a few times. I used it to clear nearly 1/2 an acre and it's still sharp.

James M. from Franklin, NCI try to keep a path between our place and another not too far and the Woodman's Pal sure does make it easier. You won't be disappointed. I especially like the ability to cut the briar's at ground level.

Joseph B. from Leominster, MAThis is a nice tool and I use it for home defense.

Richard C. from Huntington, NYI never saw this item because it was shipped as a gift to my son. He liked it and said that he has also done business with your site too.

Michelle L. from Portland, MAIt made a lovely gift and was beautifully made!

William G. from Yalaha, FLThis is a superb tool. I highly recommend it!

Tom H. from Dundas, VAIt is exactly as advertised. I needed to cut some paths through heavy brush to set up deer stands and found the perfect tool for the job.

Orlando N. from Laredo, TXThe balance of the blade is well thought out. The leather handle maintains its grip wet. It comes in handy when trimming back branches.

Edward O. from Clinton, NCIt works great! I am very satisfied with the machete.

Garry J. from Manhattan, ILNice stone.

George F. from Long Island, NYI am extremely pleased with the product! It is of the highest quality construction and performs fully to my expectations. I would recommend the Woodman's Pal to anyone seeking an effective and durable tool for appropriate uses.

Brenda R. from Kitts Hill, OHI bought this Machete for my father on his birthday and he absolutely loved it. He uses it all the time to work around his property. This is a great knife and a great gift. The only thing I regret not doing is getting it engraved.

Juan C. from Boise, IDWorks great, cleans easy, sharpens fast, and it lasts. It's also well balanced.

Chuck S. from Flagstaff, AZIt is an excellent product and good service!

Troy S. from Anacortes, WAThis is a very well made tool! It is heavy enough to really do some good. I use it to limb up fir and hemlock trees. It works very well to clear the soft shrubby stuff too. It is a good quality tool and nice sheath too!

Eddie B. from TennesseeThe product was exactly as advertised and the delivery was prompt! Thanks.

Dennis D. from Willis, TXThis product is hefty and well balanced. Clearing brushy undergrowth is quick, whether your chopping or using the hook. Best of all, it's made in the United States.

Al C. from Spokane Valley, WAIt is better than any other bushwhacker I've seen. It is much heavier than I expected and lives up to company claims and then some. Thanks!

Bill W. from Anderson, SCI purchased the item to clear brush and small trees from shooting lanes for hunting. It performed very well and I would recommend it to anyone for clearing underbrush and small saplings.

Dianne S. from Troy, MIThe machete isn't really what I wanted. I really wanted a flat bladed machete that was sharp. It is a great machete after all.

Jim V. from San Ramon, CAI wish I had just bought a regular machete. I tried using it several times and do not see the extra advantage of the Woodsman's Pal. The people I was working with got more done with their machete.

Roger P. from Dallas, GAI received this as a Christmas present. I've wanted one for sometime now and I'm not disappointed. It is balanced well and cuts easily. I gave it four stars instead of five because I would like a little thicker grip.

Sheryl C. from Homer City, PAMade in the USA! Nice quality product, but wish it was a bit longer. I would have preferred the leather sheath too. I plan on buying more for gifts.

Ray B. from Yorktown, VAGreat tool. I had one of these years ago that was government issued and used it all the time. Unfortunately, it was stolen during a household move. I am quite happy to have a Woodman's Pal in my tool set again.

Milton R. from Oak Harbor, WAThe Woodman's Pal is a fine tool. I bought one earlier for myself, and bought this one for my son as a Christmas gift.

Sande M. from Castle Rock, WAMy husband was delighted with his Christmas present! This product is wonderfully crafted and should bring many years of brush cutting!

Linda H. from Ocala, FLThis is a top quality product. My husband has had one for 15 years and likes the versatility of the Woodman's Pal. This one was for our son.

David L. from Greenville, SCI have used my Woodman's Pal and I am very pleased with it.

Danny S. from Rockmart, GAThe Pal works very well and it feels good in my hands. Cuts through this Georgia and Alabama brush with ease. Also I am very proud of the fact that its 100% made in USA.

Shirlee D. from Franklin, NCThis was a gift for my husband! It was exactly as described and he loved it. We are campers and the Woodman's Pal makes camping much easier, especially when gathering fire wood.

Bill L. from Inverness, CAPrompt service, reasonable price, and an excellent product... a good deal for me!

Martin K. from TexasI bought this for my father for his birthday and he loves it! He hasn't had a problem with it yet.

Louis C. from New Boston, NHI am most anxious to use the Woodman's Pal to clear some trails in our woods. Up to now the snow has been too deep. One of my friends brought one back in 1945 or 1946 from the army surplus. I hope you get a lot of use out of it.

Doc D. from FloridaThis is a top quality materials and workmanship create a very useful tool. The balance is excellent for horizontal or vertical swing. The cordura sheath is a bit snug ( may stretch with use?). The honing stone is nice extra.

Roy B. from Toronto, ontario, CanadaUnfortunately I have not had a chance to use it yet, as I bought it for up north, but it looks great and feels good in my hand.

Jason M. from Battle Creek, MIThe Woodman's Pal Machete is AWESOME! I have been using it clearing brush from my farm property and its amazing how well it works. Its so durable and it goes through some of the thickest branches. I have really put it to the test out in the woods and there are hardly any marks on it. I am so happy that I have this Machete. I highly recommend the Woodman's Pal.

Curt J. from Pittsburgh, PAThis was rated one of the best knives recently and it is rather unique. I enjoy using it, but tend to overdo it. It came with a sharpening stone which is great for the main blade, but tough to use on the hooked part. I need to get a cylindrical stone for that. The sheath makes it easy to carry. A leather strap for the handle would make it less apt to fly out of your hand, not that I've lost it yet. All in all, I'm pretty pleased with it!

Terry D. from DallasIt is beautiful workmanship and I am sure it will outlive me but it is a little pricey. Still love it, TD

Terry D. from Dallas, TXIt is beautiful workmanship and I am sure it will outlive me but it is a little pricey. Still love it, TD

Shona C. from Ontario, CanadaI bought this for my husbands birthday. He is over the moon with the quality and appearance of the knife. It is nice to see some things are still made with pride and workmanship!

Patrick K. from PennsylvaniaThe Woodsman's Pal Premium Plus is a quality tool. You can feel the craftsmanship right out of the box. Additionally, this item is American Made which is something we should all look for in everything we buy. I recommend spending the extra money on engraving a name or initials into this item--that was the "icing on the cake" as this was a gift for my father. Plus...the folks at your website processed this order in a most efficient manner. I would buy from them again in a heartbeat.

Alfredo L. from MichiganMy Dad was speechless on this gift! He loves it and takes it out with him when he goes out to take care of his bees or just walk through the woods.

Dennis B. from Newnan, GAI have been using the machete for taking off limbs after I take a tree down and it cuts very well. I'm very pleased with the product. Later on I may purchase the longer handle Machete for a better reach on small trees in my woods to keep a trail clear. Very good machete Dennis

James C. from Live Oak, FLI should have ordered a Woodsman's Pal long before now. It is a great tool!

Bill E. from MontanaI bought 2 of these. One for my Dad and one for myself. I'm very happy with the experience at your website just because of the smile my Dad had when he got what he wanted for his birthday.

Robin F. from Rhineland, MOI bought this for my husband. He loves it and uses it often for a variety of thing!

Chan M. from UtahThis was a gift for my son. He really likes it!

Mark M. from Seminole, FLIt is obviously well built out of high quality steel. The machete is sharp as can be and effortless way to trim brush. I think this tool will way outlast me!

Marcus M. from Seal Rock, ORI haven't had a real chance to put it to the test, but it looks like it is advertised- tough, strong and durable. When I get a change to swing it out back, then I'll really know.

Harold G. from Dallas/Fort Worth, TXThis is a super nice item! I have used these before and decided to own one. It is very useful and handy!

Travis S. from Millington, TNI am very well pleased with the 2 WOODSMAN PAL I purchased. Delivery was timely. It was a little pricey.

Ken G. from College Station, TXThis is NOT a toy.It makes cutting brush and saplings with one stroke easy. Beautifully made in the USA with quality steel and craftsmanship. A powerful, well-balanced tool. I really appreciate the versatility of my Woodsman's Pal. It's going with me to my upcoming trip to the BWCA in Northern Minnesota!

David M. from Las Vegas, NVI love the quality and workmanship of the Woodman's Pal and it was obviously a product that was thought out by people "in the field" rather than on a drawing board in an office by men with soft hands. I actually hate to give anything top-notch ratings but I honestly can't find a gripe with this knife. It does what it's supposed to do and it does it well. It sharpens easily yet holds an edge reasonably well. It's a machete and an axe and a billhook all rolled up into one.

Stephen W. from Millersburg, INHaven't had a chance to use this yet , but I am impressed with the quality of the item. Hard to beat " made in the USA "

Mrs. C. from Bryan, TXThis was a gift for my husband and he loves it!

Mack H. from Enterprise, ALAs with all American made products, this one is built to last. A real show-stopper during the opening of Christmas presents, everyone wanted to see the Woodman's Pal. My son can't wait to start clearing brush with this machete strapped to his waist. I'm sure that he'll proudly pass it on to his own child someday as a real family heirloom.

Rosemary R. from HoustonThis was a gift for my outdoors man son-in-law. He was very pleased with it! He said it would be very helpful when he goes hunting, and also in making trails on his place in the Piney Woods of East Texas.

Geraldine N. from Lusby, MDThe most awesome gift you can give a man.

Karen S. from Harrisburg, PAGreat high quality blade with nice carry sheath. Superb functionality and as an added plus, American made.

Erik A. from San Diego, CAThis is a very good tool! It is sturdy and well-balanced. It is exactly the sort of item that rounds out the complete camper's rig or survival kit. I've purchased these for friends before, and figured it was time to get one for myself. I am pleased with my purchase and expect a lifetime of service from this time-tested implement.

Nicole P. from Beaver, PAWell, I did not purchase the item for myself. I actually bought 2. One was for my husband and one for my dad for Christmas. They both loved it! They said it was a great gift!

John Z. from Baltimore, MDThe Woodman's Pal is a great all around camping tool. It is nice quality and workmanship, and was a unique gift idea for all the campers in my family this past Christmas.

Janie T. from Midlothian, VAIt's nice to make someone happy at Christmas. This is what my husband asked for and when he opened it he immediately ran outside to try it. It easily tore up some small trees we had sprouting out of some tree stumps. Boys and their toys!! He loves it!

John L. from FloridaThe machete is good quality.

Mike M. from Houston, TXIt is a great item and was received in a timely manner.

Hope B. from Louisville, KYWe purchased this as a gift for my husband on Father's day. I am very pleased with the construction and the engraving (I requested). I purchased the 'Pal' with the leather handle; I thought it would be more comfortable. I think we made a good choice and highly recommend it for any outdoor enthusiast. My husband has wanted one for some time, now. He has no idea it is in our closet waiting to surprise him.

Jeffrey Z. from White River Junction, VermontI have been wanting one of these for a long time. It took a lot of time for me to finally justify its purchase. I am glad I did, but I wish that I hadn't waited so long. This thing is really a nice piece of work. I carry it in my JEEP, on my belt around my home. Very handy, and nicely made.

Terry D. from Dallas, TXThis is the 5th one I have bought for myself and friends. Need I say more. The engraving made it a special, personal gift and the recipients loved 'em! TD
