I purchased this item because I liked the way it looked in the infomercial. I wasn't disappointed. This is a heavy, beefy knife that came with a very keen edge. I have heard complaints about the sheath that came with this knife, but other than to say my personal preference in sheath material is kydex, I have no complaints. I really like the gimping on this knife as it aids in control for fine tasks. I haven't a chance to take this knife into the field yet,so it's reliability is unproven.Otherwise,I would given it a full five stars.

Well I was in the market for a good made in America fixed blade knife when I came upon this one. This knife came dull which is not a problem because you should know how to sharpen a knife anyway. Anyway, I had it with me when I was guiding my girlfriend deer hunting. She ended up getting a nice buck and I got to do all the field dressing. I have owned a lot of knives and cleaned a lot of deer. I always own American knives and try to get ones with lifetime warranties. Well long story shorter, I gutted, skinned, and quartered out her deer with my new okc.... And I never sharpened it once throughout the processing! I was astonished it was still sharp after skinning the buck and to my amazement it was sharp after I quartered him out too! Not as sharp as when I began but still not dull. Plus I split his pelvic bone right after gutting him. I have never used or owed a knife that held an edge like this one. The handle is now a deep earthy red and I leather oiled the sheath. I couldn't be happier. Best knife money I have spent.

Even though I felt Knife Depot mislead me and everyone else for that matter about the place of origin which is Taiwan was a gorgeous knife, felt good in my hand, and seemed very sharp...unfortunately I had send them both back because for that price they should've been made in other knife sites sell them for much less...loved the sheath too...very cool.

I give my purchase an average of 3 stars. The knife gets 5, but the sheath gets 1. The snap broke/separated during my initial inspection of my purchase prior to even using the blade. Ontario had a replacement to me with-in 5 days, but the replacement had extra material that is in the way so the retaining strap does not have enough room to snap. I'm going to attempt to remove the excess material myself first, but I may have to request a third sheath. I just expected better quality from Ontario.

Looking at this knife online it seemed like a purebred with plenty of WTF...after I received my SOG SEAL Team Elite Knife I realized it's made in Taiwan, a real turn off for me, being a US Navy Veteran, shame on me for getting suckered in. The missing place of origin should've been a red flag for me, so I sent both the Knives back for full refund for that price it had better be American made.
