The first thing you notice about this knife is how solid it feels in your hand and this is very reassuring. The fit and finish of manufacture is outstanding. What is not mentioned but is impressive are the machined finger grooves on the top and bottom and the extended pommel with dual lanyard holes. Allows for use as a non-lethal percussion instrument. It looks and is built like a cross between Cold Steels Recon 1 and their AK-47 at a fraction of the price. Highly recommended.

This is one hand-filling, heavy-weight, serious utility fighting knife! It's big, heavy, solid, and inspires a sense of confidence. The 4.2" blade has an immense span, is very thick, and razor sharp. The thumb-stud is easy to operate and while the blade can easily be manually extended, a quick wrist flip snaps the big blade into positive lock. Construction is overall beefy...thick steel liner slabs extending completely through with lanyard holes, giving the knife substantial, practical mass for use in making contact strikes should the need arise. The thick, wide blade is ideal for slicing through thick rope or heavy clothing. Amazingly the CK44 series has very little advertising available despite being a superior knife to the like of much more expensive models from a particular manufacturer that "hypes" its products relentlessly. Also, comparatively speaking, the S&W carries a lifetime warranty, whereas the "other name" is only willing to go a single year... The CK44CS is worth every penny and then some...it's one of those unique knives that pop up every once in awhile that quietly sets the bar higher. I'd advise anyone considering a BIG, tactical folder to snap one or more of these up ASAP!
