We make each knife with the highest quality stainless steel alloy, specially chosen for the use of the knife. Then, we use a proprietary process developed by Paul Bos to heat-treat our blades for optimum performance and durability. Our Edge2x™ Technology creates a blade that is sharper out of the box, holds its edge longer and is easier to resharpen.
Buck Knives pioneered the concept of end-use categories to match the needs of the user. With in-house engineers and collaborations with professional knife users and makers, we tailor the design, materials and construction to match the intended use of each knife.

Gordon A. from Marlton, NJWhen I purchased the Buck Kalinga Pro from Knife Depot in the beginning of January, 2010 I was considering two other fixed blade knives made from different manufactures and distributed from different dealers. My first impression of the Kalinga Pro was that it was a good looking knife that would be much more interesting with a lightly polished Stag Horn handle material, which both of the other knives in contention had. What caused me to look closer at the Kalinga Pro was the S30V steel alloy. This is a very high quality blade material which due to the cost is largely found in custom builder blades at much higher pricing. While reviewing this information I found three other bits of value information that were compelling to say the least. The first point of interest was that this knife is one of Al Buck’s favorites. With a good knowledge of the Buck family history and commitment to culinary arts I find this to be a highly regarded endorsement. The next point of interest is that while the Kalinga Pro first came out in 1969 it was recently updated in 2007 and re introduced with several interesting variations for the market to enjoy. And finally the model I purchased is made in the USA by some of Bucks’ best knife makers. The only thing left to do was to find a reliable source with good pricing and support. KNIFE DEPOT was able to supply all of the important needs. As a final note I found when I got the knife that the resign impregnated rosewood handle was as durable as horn with a better grip when soapy wet, which is what I use as a field test. This knife is a deer hunter’s dream.
