I've had 2 of these as a replacement for 2 that got stolen from the bunkhouse at the patent gold mine I was working every weekend for 2 years, amongst many other things that still pains me to think all that was taken.
These are great on all accounts, but they are heavier than what I had. I had the 1.5 pound torpedos, which are no longer being offered for sale. I did notice the extra weight, and the extra effort needed to throw. I didn't seem to get as good a throw with these 2 pounders, there was no snap in the throw, and I seem to have lost accuracy heaving these spikes compared to a smoother tighter throwing motion.
My solution was to turn these down on a metal lathe until 1.5 pounds, the weight I was more used to. I'm glad that I did! Better throws and less wear and tear on myself.
Not sure if the 1.5s will be made again, but if you think you might like a 25% reduction in weight and greater control, and you know how to use a lathe or have someone who does.... you might want to consider this as an option

This is a excellent throwing style knife. I have bought and throwing knives for years and am good at them. Do not waste your money on cheap knives. spend the couple extra dollars and get a good one like this. This is unique due to its design and takes a little time to get used to but you can take down a small bear with this! even if you don't land the throw the shear impact is enough to break bones. The construction is simple, it is very well balanced and will last a life time if treated properly. Well worth having to your arsenal!
