I've punished this knife in rain forest, woodlands, and deserts. This medium sized bolo style machete is unstoppable. At the top edge of The D2 steel blade it cleaves like an ax, and near the guard it can even shave hairs. The santoprene handle gives you a positive grip in any conditions. I wear mine with the handle facing down for lightning fast drawing and even while running or mountain climbing it's never fallen out of the sheath. I recommended the Outcast to my step brother in Baghdad and he carries his on patrols daily. If you need a heavy duty knife look no further than the Outcast.

This is probably the best small machete made. It has a thick, well-made blade of D-2 tool steel. You can see the quality by just holding it in your hand. It's so sharp out of the box that you can almost shave with it. This machete has great balance and a lot of heft. Chopping through brush and small trees is no problem. If you have to survive in the jungle, this is the ticket.
