This knife is the best skinner/gut hook combo that I own. Over last few years I have used it on beef cows, elk, deer, and antelope. The gut hook is large enough for the thick hides of beef cattle and sharp/sensitive enough for thin hides of antelope. The knife holds an edge for a very long time. I used two knives for the gutting and skinning of 4 beef cows, 2 cow elk, and 1 mule deer before resharpening. I have given this knife as a gift to several friends and they all love it. It is the least expensive knife I own and it is by far the best for gutting and skinning that I have ever used.
