10 Knives with Bottle Openers

It’s been a long day. You finally made it down to the lake to have a few beers with your buddies. You’re ready to throw back a cold one when you realize no one has a bottle opener.

Sure, there are ways to open bottles without a dedicated opener, but using a bottle opener is quick, easy, and so satisfying.

To ensure you’re always ready for a good time, many knives feature a bottle opener. We’ve assembled a collection of some of the best.

1. Kershaw Shuffle

Kershaw Shuffle

First up is the Kershaw Shuffle. This inexpensive folder has a dedicated opener built into the back of the knife. Its blade is 2.38 inches and made from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel. The Shuffle comes in a variety of colors to match up with your personality. This little knife is beloved by knife lovers of all types and acts as a great EDC.

2. DPx Gear HEST

DPx Gear HEST

The DPx Gear HEST is another great option. This fixed blade has a 3.13-inch blade and green canvas Micarta handle scales. The blade is 1095 high carbon steel, and a notch on the spine of the blade acts as a bottle opener.

As a matter of fact, a number of DPx Gear knives feature bottle openers. Unlike the HEST, the HEFT 4 Assault has a bottle opener built into the butt of the knife. It’s a fixed blade with an extended tang and G10 handle scales.

3. Gerber Epic

Gerber Epic

The Epic from Gerber is another fixed blade knife, only this one has a bottle opener integrated right into the handle. The blade is 3.45 inches long, and the knife itself is 7.3 inches long. The bottle opener actually gives the knife a little more length and a place for the back of your palm. It fits into a nylon sheath.

4. Buck Metro

Buck Metro

More similar to a keychain tool than a fixed blade, the Buck Metro is a compact tool with a small blade and bottle opener.

The aluminum handle is available in a variety of colors, including black, blue, primrose, midnight, violet, jade, burnt orange, and more.

5. Kershaw Funxion EMT

Yet another Kershaw on the list, the Funxion EMT features a unique design designed with rescue workers in mind. When closed, it looks like a typical folding Kershaw from a distance. Its 3-inch blade is made from 8Cr13MoV steel, but it has a separate swing-out section at the butt of the handle, which houses a screwdriver, hex wrench, and cap lifter.

It’s a cool little knife for those who want to be a hero both in disasters and at parties.

6. Spyderco Clipitool

Spyderco Clipitool

Spyderco isn’t known for its multitools, but it does have a number of interesting multitools in the ClipiTools. These tools have the standard and iconic leaf-shaped Spyderco blade with the Spydie hole (non-locking). But on the other side, there are secondary tools to help tackle other tasks. For the purposes of this article, we’re only focusing on the one with a bottle opener and screwdriver.

7. Victorinox One-Hand Trekker

Victorinox One-Hand Trekker

You can’t create a list of knives with bottle openers and leave out the ol’ Swiss Army knife. Instead of picking the traditional SwissChamp, I opted for the Victorinox One-Hand Trekker because it has a locking blade and single-handed opening. It’s not your grandfather’s Swiss Army knife, but it’ll open your beer just the same.

8. KA-BAR BK11 Becker Necker

KA-BAR BK11 Becker Necker

The Becker Necker is the ultimate neck knife. The whole piece is made from 1095 Cro-Van steel and comes with a redesigned sheath made from hard plastic. It has a locking tab and 550 cord. The great thing about neck knives is that you can customize them pretty easily.

What makes the Becker Necker a no-brainer addition to this list is an integrated bottle opener in the butt. It doesn’t look like one though because it also acts as a wire breaker.

9. Tactical Survival Hunting Knife

Tactical Survival Hunting Knife

This massive fixed blade has a wicked sawback on the black-coated 7.25-inch blade. The ABS handle has a glass breaker, but the real kicker is the bottle opener at the base of the blade. It’s almost comical to whip out this 13.5-inch knife to open a couple of brewskies.

10. Boker Plus Toucan

Boker Plus Toucan

The Toucan from Boker Plus is a small and understated knife. The blade length is only an inch and the whole thing barely tops three inches. However, this small tool also has a few tricks up its sleeve, including a pry bar, nice grooves for gripping, and—of course—a bottle opener.

Bonus: Any knife with an Emerson Wave

Bonus: Any knife with an Emerson Wave

The Emerson Wave feature is a patented opening system that deploys the knife as it’s being pulled from a pocket. The protruding wave catches the edge of a pocket, but it also doubles as bottle opener in a pinch. The Wave is most commonly found on Emerson knives, but you can also get the Wave on knives like the Delica 4 with Emerson Wave.

  1. Great list but your opening photo shows a Swiss Army Knife with its tin/can opener extended. The cap-lifter/bottle opener is the other end and is not open!
