Badass Knife of the Week: Gil Hibben Survivor Bowie

Gil Hibben Survivor Bowie

Like the classic Bowie knives of the Old West, the Gil Hibben Survivor Bowie is the ultimate warrior. This Badass Knife of the Week is 15 inches of pure power and can handle any hard-core tasks you throw at it.

This huge knife boasts a 10-inch blade made of AUS6 stainless steel with sawback teeth opposite the razor-sharp straight edge. But, unlike the old Bowie knives, this adaptation from Hibben is optimized for jungle survival.

Gil Hibben Survivor Bowie SideA handsome black pakkawood handle features an ergonomic grip along with two polished bolsters that keep the knife from slipping out of your hand in the wet conditions you might encounter in jungle environments.

The versatility of the knife, designed by legendary knifemaker Gil Hibben, is further illustrated in the lashing holes in the guard and pommel that allow you to create a makeshift spear with a long, wooden handle.

Hibben, if you’re not familiar with his work, is well known for creating Rambo’s knife in the third and fourth films, and this Bowie is fit for the fictional war vet himself.

The survivor Bowie comes with a custom leather belt sheath stamped with the Hibben logo as a certificate of authenticity.

  1. It was my understanding that Gil Hibben designed this knife for Rambo III only.
