Dozens of the classic and iconic Swiss Army Knife exist, but the one that keeps coming out as a perennial favorite also happens to be the direct descendant of an icon.

When most people think of a Swiss Army Knife, they think of the original Victorinox Officer’s Knife. Its spirit and design continues to live on in the Victorinox Spartan.

Although boasting a design that’s more than 100 years old, the Spartan feels as fresh and modern as ever.

Here is a quick overview:

This version of the beloved model features the recognizable red Cellidor scales with the Victorinox shield highlighted in white for the world to see. It’s also available in a sleek and sexy black.

The Spartan has essentially the same tool set as the original Officer’s Knife with some minor changes that take it to the next level. The heart of the 91mm knife (3.6 inches) is the large blade with a nail nick for convenient engagement. Complementing the large blade is a small blade to accomplish some of the finer tasks.

On opposite ends of the tool are a bottle opener with a 3mm screwdriver and wire stripper and a can opener with a 5mm screwdriver.

A corkscrew lies in wait of wine tastings, and a reamer with sewing awl adds extra functionality. Tweezers and a toothpick are concealed in the handles.

A key ring makes it easy to affix a lanyard or fob to help get this 2.1-ounce knife out of your pocket when you need it most. Carry a piece of history in your pocket with the Spartan.
