I use the machete for cutting brush for my survey business. I have tried other but the Ontario 18" Machete is the best and can with stand the abuse. It is the only machete I will buy.

This machete was exactly what you portrayed on your web site, and was exactly what I was looking for. Solid full shank that does not bend. Made tough to tackle tough jobs. I am very pleased.

I live in UK and we can't get these over here. We don't have the wilderness like you guys in the States but we do have gardens to clear shrubs to cut and the like. I am a collector so I don't intend using it as such only for the odd swipe or two. I like Ontario Blades and I have quite a few amongst which are M9 Bayonets and the OCR knife bayonet. The build on the machete is excellent and it feels well balanced in the hand. 5 STARS for me.

Mil. Spec. Machete, wonderful grade of spring steel, perfect balance, able to take and hold a decent edge. Is a bit heavy for light vegetation, handle gets very slippy from wet vegetation. Only thing I will have to do myself is cord-wrap the hard plastic handle. Soft sheath wears out on blade,Hard-Plastic sheath would be a lot better. Fantastic value!

It is durable and very capable of clearing dense areas. I used it on very thick, 6-7 foot tall thorny bushes. It cleared through them very well. I ordered a second one just this week. Definitely recommend this machete - it is worth your money.

This knife is absolutely perfect for what I use it for! It stays very sharp and is well balanced. The price can't be beat either. The only improvement that could be made would be to offer a sheath with it to protect it.

I like the feel of the knife! The blade is definitely adequate and I've had fun taking it on backpacking trips into the back country in my state.

I am looking for another one. Why? No, mine is not worn out. I have beat everything in the woods with it. I bought mine years ago I never thought about the quality just put it to work. Don't get me wrong while I do beat everything in my path with it I take care of it as well sharpen it, clean it, oil it etc... The other day a surveyor used it some he said it was the best he had used. I said it was the man who sharpened it (me). I seen him again he wanted to know where I got it. This fellow has been beat down a lot of stuff from the jungles of Vietnam to his life long career as a surveyor. He knows machetes. I was looking for him one like mine.

This is exactly like my fathers tactical issue machete: thick blade, full tang construction, and quality construction.

I did have to sharpen the machete before use. It works very well and I am pleased that it performs as good as my tactical issue machete from 1943. It is especially great for cutting bamboo that creeps in from next door.
