Smith's Sharpener Carbide, Ceramic, & Diamond Knife Sharpener
You won't always have the space for a heavy-duty electric sharpener or sharpening stones, especially when you're going camping or hunting in the wild, where storage space is at a premium. In that case, try this pocket-sized sharpener, which packs in carbide, ceramic, and diamond sharpener edges that are replaceable. This stone is made for medium-to-coarse sharpening, and works well with both serrated and straight edges. It's quick, accurate, and -- most importantly -- portable. It even includes a lanyard hole so you can keep it around your neck or on your bag.
This little sharpener is the greatest fits right in your pocket and will do just as good of a job as an electric without the swirl marks in the blade.
Disappointed in this knife sharpener. I wasn't able to put a sharp edge on my knife. I wasn't looking for a razor edge, but I did want it sharp. I was barely able to get the edge north of 'not dull'. My knife was pretty dull and after a few pulls in the course side to 'set the edge', it actually felt more dull. Several more pulls through that side and then the ceramic side did little to put the edge back on and it seemed to only sharpen one side of the blade. I checked the instructions, I looked up video's on-line to make sure I was doing it right. I was. Using the rod helped a little bit. After 20 minutes, my knife wasn't much sharper than when I started. 20 minutes on a stone would have given much different results. I was using it on my Frontier Double Eagle knife. All I was using it for was to remove the bark from a cedar to make a walking stick. Tough work with a dull blade. While it didn't work for me, it felt well built and sturdy. I wish it worked better because it would be super handy to throw in a tool box or backpack.
It's a great knife. I's 84 years old and it's a little to heavy and hard to open.
