have wanted one of these beautys for awhile now that I have one I can see why.big, sharp, one solid piece of steel.bought it for camping, haven't got to use it yet but it'sjust nice to have and play with.
Well built and almost indestructible survival knife of exceptional quality.
This is one beast of a knife!--about one pound of solid steel in a one piece knife--this is the same grade of steel railroads use for rails & other things--this knife is super tough, feels good in the hand & balances well--the tool kit in the handle is well thought out & useful in my opinion, but the whole thing is removable if you want to store other things in handle, which is very deep--the sheath is cleaver in all the ways that you can attach to yourself or other items--the pouch on front is perfect to carry a magnesium fire starter--I got the spear point so that if I need to stab thru a steel barrel or other containers, it will do it--this is one extremely well designed product that is extremely tough & versatile--I am totally pleased that I got this item--I have been well pleased with all the brands that Taylor Brands makes & this knife exceeded my expectations--this knife also kicks the ass of knives costing way more--
This quite simply is the best designed knife ever made in regard to design and function. The quality of the materials and manufacture, should have this knife closer to $200.00 or more. It is stunning in looks and the way it feels in the hand. If I could have rated it higher I would have. Everyone that has ever handled it says the same thing.
This item is a hidden value. It is similar to some older $300 Chris Reeves knives, in that it is machined from a single piece of metal. This allows for a hollow handle without the structural weakness found in the cheaper plastic handle knives with partial tangs. Basically, the entire hollow metal handle on this knife is the tang. The bit kit inside is an extra bonus, I use it for adjusting tension on folding knives. Best to put the bit kit in your tool drawer and replace it with survival supplies in the handle - small flint, pain pills, band aides, button compass, whistle, squeeze light. The sheath also has a pocket for more supplies. The length, tip, hand-guard, and metal pommel allow this knife to serve as an okay defensive knife too, should you need one out in the wild.
