I am 67 years old and have five children, fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. My father passed over twenty years ago and I inherited his Schrade Old Timer two-blade pocket knife, which I have used since. I started a tradition this past year with my oldest grandson. When he reached the rank of WOLF in Cub Scouts I gave him a Schrade Old Timer just like mine. Both my sons and all my sons-in-law are Eagle Scouts and I would like to see all my grandsons walk the Eagle Trail. We went camping and his father and I presented him with this knife and instructed him in proper safety in using throughout our camping trip. His two younger brothers were jealous but they know that they will also get their knife when they reach their first rank. I gave my sons the same knife and we have started a nice tradition in our family. I am grateful to the Knife Depot for carrying this classic Schrade blade and ordered enough for all my sons and grandsons. I will get more as new sons come into our family. Pretty cool tradition, we think.

I am 79 years of age and I have carried a pocket knife every day of my life, and not a single day has passed that I didn't use it. The 2 blade old timer is a great size for a pocket knife, not too big nor too heavy. I have used an old timer for all these years and would not buy any other. Wonderful product for any age.

I have owned this type of knife for 30-40 years now and they have performed quite admirably for a nice small pocket knife. This is the only knife I've owned since my Lone Ranger knife I had as a kid!

Excellent pocket knife. Right size to fit average pants pocket, but with a blade large enough to be functional for carving.

November 23, 2010

This is one of the all-time great pocket knives. Over the years I have lost a couple of them, but always keep a spare. I use mine several times a day, and keep it sharp as a razor. I have given half a dozen as gifts, and the recipients have thanked me over and over. It's easy to carry, but big enough to handle almost any job short of skinning an elephant.

March 1, 2009

This is a great knife! It does occasionally edge the smaller blade but if you sharpen it with a coin edge or a file, it will keep its edge. It is reliable, and easy to open or close and it is very cool-looking.

January 22, 2009

This was a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. He had one for years and recently lost it. He was so thrilled I ordered a 2nd one a few weeks later. He says they are the best if you carry a knife everyday because it is so small and doesn't take up a lot of room.

I bought 2 of these pocket knives for Christmas. One for myself & one for my 40 year old son. We both just love them! The Old Timer pocket knife is the knife of our choice and made well to last for years & years. The price wise is very very good. You can't go wrong. Nice company to buy from. A+.

This is an excellent pocket knife! It is a small size, and is easy and comfortable to carry in my pocket!

June 9, 2008

I like a small pocket knife for all sorts of tasks. It should be stainless, durable, hold a good edge, be reasonably inconspicuous in my pocket but large enough to be effective in all the tasks I put it to. This knife meets all of my requirements. I am satisfied. It is my second purchase -- the first was eaten by Airport Security. You do have to plan ahead.

By Richard B. from Seaside, OR
May 25, 2008

I used to have a knife like this one years ago and somehow misplaced it. In fact I bought the first one I had because it was one just like my grandfather had and was perfect for picking out those pesky splinters. This new knife is perfect for the same things and its not too bulky, and will keep a good edge on the blade because its so easy to sharpen. Thanks again for your prompt service and I'm looking forward to doing more business with you.

By Bill C. from San Diego, CA
May 14, 2008

This is the finest small general purpose pocket knife I have ever seen. I've given ten of them as gifts over the past several years, and those who have received them are never without theirs. I use mine many times each day. It is easy to sharpen and keeps a good edge. It's size makes it easy to carry an d it is big enough to handle just about any job.

April 3, 2008

The knife serves my objectives to perfection! I want a light but useful knife for such applications as opening packages, cutting cheese or cord, or the foil on a bottle of wine. I want stainless blades. In all respects, this knife is a winner!

March 3, 2014

This is a good knife and was shipped promptly and received in good order. It is a good knife, very sharp, but smaller than I thought. I should have paid more attention to the measurements in the description, but I like it. It fits easily in a pants pocket, perfect for that.

I would have preferred a bone handle. That would have been 5 stars. But otherwise, it is very satisfactory. We are pleased!

This knife is okay or the price. Its a little too small for an every day carry.

By Rick P. from Duquoin Il
January 22, 2014

Gave a 3 because I received in damaged condition. The bar on back to stop the blade from over opening was in 2 pieces. Open blade & no stop. Still I kept the knife rather than give as a present. Had one like it when all young boys carried pocket knives (I'm 63) decided to keep. Blades are sharp. All other things are good. Just the bar on back is broke.

By Norman M. from Marietta,GA

The Mighty Mite is very difficult to open!

By Virginia L. from Malvern, AR
April 16, 2012

One of the knives had a larger blade that was unstable. In other words when the blade was opened it went on past the stopping place. I have misplaced the knife or I would have sent it back.since I have had previous experience with this type of Old timer's knife. I decided to reorder.

By Edwards M. from Pennsylvania

My Dad was pleased with this knife!

By Roy S. from Jacksonville, FL
January 26, 2008

While this knife is not the old timer I remember from boyhood, it is a close second. My only complaints are that the larger blade occasionally catches / strikes the smaller blade when closing and the blades do not seem to hold an edge quite as well.

By William H. from East Alton, IL
July 2, 2013

I as disappointed with this knife. It wasn't sharp when I received it and I have been unable to put a good edge on it.

By Frank W. from Pensacola, FL
