KA-BAR USMC 7" Tactical Knife with Brown Leather Sheath
During the height of World War II, the U.S. Marines sought a fighting and utility knife that could meet the needs of the elite fighting force. That's where the legendary KA-BAR Fighting utility knife comes into the picture.
With the quality that you can expect from a standard issue knife for the Marines, the KA-BAR has many of the features that made it a constant carry for numerous armed servicemen and women both at home and abroad.
But before we jump into the admirable specs of the knife, to understand why the knife is truly formidable, we must first take a look at its rich history.
In response to a request for a modern fighting knife for the Marines, USMC Colonel John M. Davis and Major Howard E. America worked with what would become KA-BAR knives to develop the knife we know today.
The 7-inch carbon steel blade features a black, non-reflective epoxy coating and an edge that comes razor sharp right out of the box.
Its stacked leather handle was designed to offer a better and more comfortable grip while the steel crossguard prevents the knife from slipping out of your hand in tough weather conditions.
All of these unique features, coupled with the included leather sheath, add up to create a knife that is perfectly stealthy and suitable for jobs that require the utmost precision and efficiency.

Making a quality KA-BAR product requires the talent of experienced craftspeople performing dozens of processes with precision and skill. Each knife undergoes specific manufacturing processes to ensure corrosion resistance, strength, edge holding ability, and an out-of-the-box razor sharp cutting edge.
Soon after its introduction in the mid-1920's, the KA-BAR trademark became widely known and respected. There have been many versions of how the KA-BAR name came to be, but all evidence points to a letter received from a fur trapper. This particular fur trapper's testimonial turned out to be the most significant ever received by the company.
He wrote, in very rough English, that his gun had jammed and that he had therefore relied on his knife to kill a wounded bear that was attacking him. In thanking the company for their quality product the trapper described using his knife to kill the bear. All that was legible of his scrawled writing was "k a bar". The company was so honored by this testimonial that they adopted this phrase and used it as their trademark, KA-BAR.

I love it.
Bought as a present for my daughter an ex marine. She loves it! Great quality and fast shipping total thumbs up!
John S from Roselle Il.... This is a duplicate of a Government issued Fighting Knife... If it doesn't do what you need maybe you should try a candy cane. KaBar should issue the hardness scale and the steel grade of this manufacture, otherwise great purchase.
Exactly as advertised, great knife
Very good knife can be used for all what you need from strong and reliable knife.
Great knife, easy to sharpen, all around good quality. I got this knife for my buddy who was a grunt, after he got out of the Marines he had broke the tip off his but he love that knife like it was his baby, anyway he said that this knife was just as good as the one he was issued in the Corps. SEMPER FI
I bought this as a surprise gift for my husband. He was so happy with it. Great purchase and great place to order from!
This isan excellent knife, I like very much.
It's just as good as the one I had in the Marines. I lost my original issue, and am very happy with the one gotten from you.
Very sturdy knife. Well worth the money.
I recently purchased a 7" USMC KA-BAR knife with the brown leather sheath from your website. It was shipped promptly and the knife met all of my expectations and beyond. I would not hesitate to order again. The prompt customer service seems to be such a thing of the past these days but your website has helped to restore my faith that some companies do still care about their customers! I love the knife!
This knife is awesome! It was delivered on the exact day you said it would be. I positively will purchase from you again. Everything you said about the knife in the description was accurate. Thank You!
What can I say, I've been a butcher for twenty years or so and, lets face it, I should know a good knife when I see it ... it's better than good its brilliant, carbon steel the only way to go..keep up the good work an great service to us abroad. HIP HIP HORRAY.
I got what I was looking for and it shipped on time. It's not the knife I wanted but it's still cool and razor sharp.
My new KA-BAR had only one (1) fault. I had expected the butt cap to be screwed on and pinned as the original design. My plan for using the knife as a utility hammer and a back-up weapon. Since my primary intent was not met, I give the over-all a low 4 star. Had the butt cap been of original design, the rating would be an overwhelming 5 star. All other aspects of the sheath and knife have met my expectations.
This is the contemporary version of the knife I carried in Vietnam. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is because the new model has deleted the edge on the forward third of the top of the blade. The the slashing up-stroke is no longer a tactical option. So the first thing I did was to put the edge back on it. The new model also comes with an oil-tanned sheath (where the Vietnam-era issue knife came with a water-tanned sheath that didn't much like constantly being soaked, then dried). Though maybe it isn't as high-tech and sexy as today's knives, if you really want a rugged, dependable knife that won't let you down, even after all the abuse a Marine can give it, then this knife is my hands-down choice.
This is a well made knife!
This is the worst knife I've ever had. It can do absolutely nothing!
