CRKT Minimalist Bowie Neck Knife, Alan Folts Design, Sheath
The CRKT Minimalist is a small and lightweight fixed blade that offers surprising control and versatility. However, don't mistake the knife's simplicity for a lack of sophistication.
Designed by the prolific knife maker Alan Folts, the CRKT Minimalist is a production take on Folts' well-received custom knives. It took Folts more than two years to design the knife. He carried the knife around the country and received feedback from countless people.
Needless to say, all the minor tweaks and changes paid off.
The shapely handle on this fixed blade is ergonomically designed to use the least amount of material but still create a grip that fills out the hand better than nearly any other knife.
The polished resin impregnated fiber scales cover the full tang and boast three contoured finger choils. Jimping along the spine of the blade offers extra control.
Made of functional 5Cr15MoV stainless steel, the bead-blasted blade is 2.125 inches with a plain edge. This iteration features a Bowie style blade profile but it also comes in a Wharncliffe or Tanto design.
The 1.6-ounce knife fits into a custom-fitted glass-filled nylon sheath with a detent that locks the blade in place.

Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), is a Tualatin, Oregon-based manufacturer of knives, tools, and accessories founded in 1994.
CRKT means Quality. All CRKT knives and tools are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be builtÂwithout compromising quality in any part of their creation. CRKT accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
Sport & Work Knives
CRKT continues to "think outside the box" by seeking out new and unique designs and mechanisms, just when everyone in the industry thinks they have seen it all. For example, the company is introducing the tiny McGinnis Shrimp, the
Gekkota Pocket and Golf, the ExiTool, Ta-Bar Tool, Norfork Diver and Whitewater, and Klecker NIRKÂ all exciting and unusual. At the same time, it continues to broaden itÂs traditional knife models, including for the first time, Classic pocket knives, as well as the Centofante Tribute, Carson M4-02 series, and the Delegate and Vertex lines.
More natural and premium materials.
CRKT is continuing to specify the natural and premium materials that are common in the best custom knives, including more knives
with layered Micarta, G10, stag, jig bone, white bone, ram horn, and hardwoods such as thuya root, cocobolo, ebony, walnut, and burl.

If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, weÂll replace the knife. This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Can't go wrong with CRKT.
seems to be a pretty good little knife, been carried it for over a month . have only used it for cutting tape on boxes sharped it this morning seems to hold an edge .
Arrived very sharp from the box. Looks cool. Sheath holds it tightly. Don't care for the cord for neck use. I plan on replacing it with ball chain like what is on military dog tags. Vertical belt carry works ok. Tried horizontal belt carry. That did not work for me. The knife bit me when I drew it from the sheath as I had to hold the sheath so it wouldn't slide on my belt. It drank my blood so now I truly own it. Like I wrote it is very sharp.
