I was very surprised to receive a blade that was this sharp and over the past few weeks it has remained sharp even with my repeated usage, to say I am impressed is and understatement. The tightness of the blades within its frame work is very sturdy.

Great price and good looking knife. Can't beat it. I will buy again from Knife Depot. I enjoy the Schrade brand but I'm still a KA BAR man.

This is a fantastic knife! I work on a Christmas tree farm so a tough knife is a necessity. I've dropped this in mud puddles, coated the blade in sap, and of course cut a ton of rope and string. If you are thinking of purchasing this, do it!! It hasn't let me down and hopefully it won't let you down either! Great knife!

This is a great product with a very reasonable price tag. The shipping was very quick. Knife Depot is a great place to shop. Beats the heck out of overpriced sporting good stores.

I have carried a two bladed barlow since I was a kid. I am 71 years old. I carried one for 20 years in the us navy. They keep an edge, you can use them for anything from scraping paint to cutting rope to cleaning your nails. Unlike expensive knives if you lose it and someone fines it they always give it back. I used it on the farm for everything you can imagine, now that I am retired, I still have one in my pocket everyday. The one I bought from you was a gift for a friend, you can't hardly fine them any more. It is the only knife I ever carried.

I have owned one of these pocket knives for 40 years, it is the best pocket knife there is. I purchased this one to replace one I had for 25 years.

My first pocketknife, 50+ years ago, was a Barlow. I still have it and it's still quite usable. This new Barlow, which I also own, isn't made to last 50 years, but it's a darn good knife for the money and respectable ancestor to my ancient one. Buy a few, have them everywhere.

I had never heard of a Barlow knife, but my 90 year old father asked that I locate one for him. I was surprised to learn of many brands claiming to handle a Barlow knife with a wide range of prices. I bought this one because of a very reasonable price and the fact it had "Barlow" engraved on it. My Dad is happy!

August 22, 2007

My 88 year old dad was very happy with this find. It matched his older knife with the exception of the color casing. The blade is a bit stiff when pulling it out and has a sharp snap back when closing. Dad uses it for everything, removing splinters, cutting garden line, skinning electrical wire, etc. His old knives always sharpened nicely. I'm assuming these will also.

I have carried a Barlow Schrade Jackmaster for over 30 years. Being in the farming business, this is a standard tool in my pocket. I use it to cut practically everything and even as a screw driver when needed. When the edge get dull I just touch it up with a file and it is practically good as new. My long time supplier stopped carrying pocket knives so I had to order from the internet. I ordered 4 so I would not be without my Barlow.

Nice size for a pocket knife used for every day carry. It was not very sharp and I had to spend some time getting it where I wanted.

By Joe T. from Cranston, RI
March 22, 2013

Nice pocket knife, had to tune up the sharpness after I got it. It's a good, sturdy, rugged, little knife, very good as an Every Day Carry knife. It would be a 5 out of 5 if it had been sharper out of the box.

I wanted a somewhat healthy bladed knife to carry. This pocket knife is just that. It has a good edge and thus far has been keeping it well.

By Clarence B. from Iowa City, IA
July 16, 2012

This is a good knife for the price of 11.47. The blades are very sharp, much sharper than my old Barlow knife by Case that I bought some 46 years ago. I am satisfied with it but outer chrome parts are not as finished my old knife.

By Richard B. from Vancouver, WA
March 10, 2011

I owned a Schrade Barlow when I was a kid 43 years ago and wanted to buy my son one. I instead bought two, one for each of us. It is a well made pocket knife, sturdy for it's price. The blades operate well enough and the blade takes an edge well if it doesn't hold it a lengthy time. It sharpens up easily with a ceramic steel. Its comfortable in the hand and would work well for casual whittling or light carving. It does not have the most positive blade lock so is better off with older kids or adults. All in all, a good knife for the price!

By Mary June G. from Quinlan, TX

June 25, 2008

It seems to be well made. I didn't buy it to use it. I bought it as a memento of my youth. I had a Barlow knife as a kid growing up in the 60s and 70s and wanted one as a collectible. This "Barlow" was about as close a replica as I could find to the ones I had as a kid.

By Dave M. from Harlan, KY
January 26, 2008

This is a great value on a great name knife. I am very pleased with the products and pricing from this site.

By J. C. W. from Muskogee, OK
January 11, 2007

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this knife for the price. Time will tell how it holds up. It seemed very solid and well made and with nothing I could fault out of the box. The classic Barlow still can't be beat for an all-around pocket knife. Big enough to be useful, but compact enough you can forget about it when not needed. No showy features or trendy design for the sake of being different. Its a "working" knife with a look that never goes out of style. The only reason I am giving this knife four stars rather than five is that it is foreign made. I would have preferred a US made knife, even if it cost a little more, but couldn't find one. That reservation aside, this knife appears to be an excellent value.

November 14, 2008

The Barlow knives have never been a top of the line metal or product to me. But man they fit my needs perfectly! It is relatively cheap and can be used for everything from scraping my boots to peeling insulation off wire, old paint off the tractor and after cleaning the blade. Then I can peel my apple, run it threw the knife sharpener and its good for another month. It small enough for my pocket comfort but big enough to do any job!

This does not seem to be as good as my original Barlow but it will have to do. My original was MADE IN THE USA.

Affordable quality pocket knife that has a respectable measure of toughness. The blades can be honed to the sharp edge needed at either the home, work, or camp site.

By David T. from Lynden, WA
August 9, 2016

I had a Barlow for 23 years loved it always sharp easy to use; lost it at TSA check in. OK they must still make them. So I went on line and found yours. This is not close to my original. It may look the same, It was sharp, but that is it. It was so stiff I had to use a pair of pliers to get a blade out. Carried it in my pocket for a week and one side of the handle came off. The rivet was not set. I do not know where my original was made but if they sill make them there that is where I want my next one to come from. I thought Schrade had better quality control than what I received. I debated on 2 stars or one but it is shiny.

My old one (Barlow knife) lasted over 20 years that's why I got this one, today I was using it and it fell apart, I'm VERY disappointed with this product, this one only lasted 2 weeks.
