Ontario Knife Company SP-24 USN-1 Fixed Blade Survival Knife
This streamlined fixed blade survival knife from Ontario Knife Company isn't the kind to show off its toughness. Even without the hyper-futuristic and awe-inspiring features that distinguish contemporary tactical knives, this basic model continues to be a crowd favorite among military servicemen and women and law enforcement professionals. Why is this knife so attractive? It could be its highly functional blade, which incorporates a string cutter (which can cut more than just string) and serrated edges into its design. Or it could be the tough steel butt cap, which can hammer nails with little effort on your part. Customers in more extreme climates also appreciate this knife's Kraton handle, which stays strong and grippy in wet, cold, and painfully hot conditions. Includes sheath.

This is a quality, utilitarian knife with several useful features without the Rambo or useless add-ons often seen these days. The sheath is also excellent - well made of practical materials with excellent fit and function.
I love this knife! I don't really use it, but I love all things tactical and it quite suites my whole look. I wear BDU's and tactical t-shirts and have a drop leg rig that I made to carry the things that usually go in a purse. I altered the knife sheath and bolted a belt clip to the back so it clips to the rig, right on the front of my thigh. The knife looks tough as nails, and probably is, though I haven't used it in any way that would test that. I'm sure the steel butt cap would easily break my car window if I had to make an emergency escape.
The only grip I've got was the factory edge on the knife as received was terrible, some how the sharping was skipped and missed during QA check if there was even one. However, once I got it sharp I've loved the feel, handling and cutting of the knife. Going to be a great addition to my knife collection and bug out ruck load.
I give my purchase an average of 3 stars. The knife gets 5, but the sheath gets 1. The snap broke/separated during my initial inspection of my purchase prior to even using the blade. Ontario had a replacement to me with-in 5 days, but the replacement had extra material that is in the way so the retaining strap does not have enough room to snap. I'm going to attempt to remove the excess material myself first, but I may have to request a third sheath. I just expected better quality from Ontario.
Unlike Charlene, I loved things tactical with Marines, no wannabe dress up. The knife is okay, "String cutter" ? a waste of blade strength. Need a pic of sheath. I have a Mk 3 - use it and love it. It has even dug foraged food out of the ground.
