For years, Kit Carson's M16 designs have been our most popular series. And our Z version has built the largest user base of all. These knives are built for function, not fad. And they are exceptional values.

The M16-03Z and M16-13Z are slim designs with spear point blades. They are ideal for a variety of carry positions.

They use our very successful InterFrame construction, tough, textured glass filled nylon scales over a 420J2 stainless steel liner InterFrame. We overbuild it for rigidity, using solid glass filled nylon back spacers. And we assemble the handle with superior offset Torx fasteners. The handle is exceptionally rigid and fills the hand perfectly.

We use our tough AUS 4 high-carbon stainless steel for the blades to give greater everyday utility, and offer both Razor-Sharp and Combined Razor-Sharp and Triple-Point Serrated edges.

All models feature the Carson Flipper, which is not only an aid to opening the blade, especially when wearing gloves, but acts as a blade guard when the blade is open.

We've also incorporated our patented* AutoLAWKS automatic knife safety into all models, which converts the M16 Z series into virtual fixed blades when their blades are open and locked.

All styles have lubrous washers and a removable stainless steel clothing/gear clip.

Think of the M16-Z as a Clydesdale--ready to rush a knight into battle or pull a beer wagon. Every day. Day after day.

Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), is a Tualatin, Oregon-based manufacturer of knives, tools, and accessories founded in 1994.

CRKT means Quality. All CRKT knives and tools are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built—without compromising quality in any part of their creation. CRKT accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers’ high expectations.

Sport & Work Knives

CRKT continues to "think outside the box" by seeking out new and unique designs and mechanisms, just when everyone in the industry thinks they have seen it all. For example, the company is introducing the tiny McGinnis Shrimp, the

Gekkota Pocket and Golf, the ExiTool, Ta-Bar Tool, Norfork Diver and Whitewater, and Klecker NIRK— all exciting and unusual. At the same time, it continues to broaden it’s traditional knife models, including for the first time, Classic pocket knives, as well as the Centofante Tribute, Carson M4-02 series, and the Delegate and Vertex lines.

More natural and premium materials.

CRKT is continuing to specify the natural and premium materials that are common in the best custom knives, including more knives

with layered Micarta, G10, stag, jig bone, white bone, ram horn, and hardwoods such as thuya root, cocobolo, ebony, walnut, and burl.

CRKT Limited Lifetime Warranty: This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, we’ll replace the knife. This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way.

Excellent EDC. Perfect size, functionality, and weight. Very easy to open & close unless your a moron! Use the flipper to open. The so-called thumb studs are actually the blade stop. Their not suppose to be used to open the knife! Easy to sharpen. Well built knife. Worth every penny.

This is a totally SWEET knife!! It was bigger than I expected. It has nice lines, good grip and the blade is smooth as grease. It was very sharp when I got it. I ran the factory edge off with a smooth stone and it now a razor!! I have had several of my coworkers purchase the same knife. I had a 3" blade M-16 and I really love it as a back up knife and this knife is the best! I am getting more of these for gifts for the family, friends and folks I know enjoy a good quality knife. Thanks for a good deal on this blade.

The knife is slim, which doesn't take up much room in my pocket. It is sharp and well made. The only problem I have is it is somewhat difficult to learn to open, with having to unlock and open at the same time. I still like it enough to make it the main knife I carry.
