Columbia River (CRKT) Ken Onion Skinner Hunting Knife
The best works of art aren't merely completed and then sent out into the world. Instead, they're modified, tested, and reworked countless times. One look at the CRKT Onion Skinner and you'll see why that often leads to perfection.
Renowned knifemaker Ken Onion designed the Onion Skinner but spent more than five years giving it to hunters and taxidermists for feedback. After continuous modifications and repeated testing, the Onion Skinner proved its worth in the real world.
Although some were skeptical of the unusual hunting knife, it quickly won people over by revealing its true value as a versatile knife.
The knife features a 3.75-inch three-quarter tang made from Bohler K110 stainless steel. Although it has a high-hollow grind at the blade, the thin tip has a slightly convex grind to minimize drag for detailed work.
A pronounced camel hump at the top of the blade makes skinning an animal easier without the risk of puncturing the paunch.
Even though the blade is nearly flawless, the same amount of thought and effort went into crafting a worthy handle.
The scales are Twin-Fused with a Zytel core and soft textured TPR outside for a comfortable and secure grip.
Finally, a custom leather sheath grips the scales of the knife to keep the knife encased until you need it.

Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), is a Tualatin, Oregon-based manufacturer of knives, tools, and accessories founded in 1994.
CRKT means Quality. All CRKT knives and tools are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be builtÂwithout compromising quality in any part of their creation. CRKT accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers high expectations.
Sport & Work Knives
CRKT continues to "think outside the box" by seeking out new and unique designs and mechanisms, just when everyone in the industry thinks they have seen it all. For example, the company is introducing the tiny McGinnis Shrimp, the
Gekkota Pocket and Golf, the ExiTool, Ta-Bar Tool, Norfork Diver and Whitewater, and Klecker NIRKÂ all exciting and unusual. At the same time, it continues to broaden itÂs traditional knife models, including for the first time, Classic pocket knives, as well as the Centofante Tribute, Carson M4-02 series, and the Delegate and Vertex lines.
More natural and premium materials.
CRKT is continuing to specify the natural and premium materials that are common in the best custom knives, including more knives
with layered Micarta, G10, stag, jig bone, white bone, ram horn, and hardwoods such as thuya root, cocobolo, ebony, walnut, and burl.
CRKT Limited Lifetime Warranty: This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, weÂll replace the knife. This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way.

I am very pleased with this knife I used it this deer season and used it to gut 7 deer in are deer camp also used it to skin. I know problems ripping through the ribs and only had to do a few minor touch ups with a steel along the way. Sharpened easy and stayed sharp, everything they said about this knife was true, would very much recommend this knife.
I have not yet used the knife but I like the feel and it will take and hold an edge, it should be an excellent skinning knife. 73 yrs and still looking for the ultimate knife for dressing game. I don't care about the fancy handles. I just want one that does the job year after year.
