Gerber Remix Folding Knife, 2.9" Fine Edge Blade, Aluminum Handle
The Gerber Remix looks like it came straight out of a sci-fi movie, with a design that's completely original and unlike any of the knives available today.
The handle of this lightweight knife is made from anodized aluminum that's been coated with titanium nitride. One of the hardest materials known to man, titanium nitride adds some durability and shine to the handle.
Complementing the skeletonized grip of the Remix is a noticeable finger hole, which is what the blade actually pivots around.
This large O-ring injects versatility into the knife, allowing the user to hold the knife in a variety of grips or attach the knife to a carabiner. The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination will allow.
Despite the unique handle and distinct o-ring, the Remix is more than just a good-looking knife. It's exceptionally functional.
The 2.9-inch drop point blade is made from stainless steel and swiftly engages with the flick of the ambidextrous thumb studs. The blade stays open with a liner lock.
Rounding out the Remix is a bevy of extra features that make this knife special, including an open design for easy cleaning, slight jimping along the spine, a tip-up pocket clip, and a lanyard hole near the butt.

In 1939 Joseph Gerber hired a local knife maker to build 25 sets of kitchen cutlery to be given as Christmas gifts. The knives were so popular that Joseph Gerber left his advertising agency to start Gerber Legendary Blades®. The unique style and high quality manufacturing of Gerber cutlery soon developed wide spread acclaim. In fact, Gerber Legendary Blades are the only cutlery on display in New YorkÂs famous Museum of Modern Art.
From very early on, Gerber collaborated with top knife designers, setting a standard of quality for everyone else to follow. Renowned designers such as Al Mar, Bob Loveless, Paul Poehlmann, "Blackie" Collins, William Harsey Jr. and Ernest Emerson have all designed knives for Gerber. In 2002 this tradition continued as Gerber released the Silver TridentÂ, designed by Chief James "Patches" Watson (U.S.N. Ret.) and Bill Harsey Jr.
Today, Gerber continues to design and manufacture unique, high quality outdoor recreation products. In 2003 we are proud to introduce the next generation of multi-tools: the Recoil Auto-Plier. By constantly utilizing new technology and innovative design to develop new products, Gerber continues to be an industry leader.

I love the design and quality of this knife. I bought it to replace a lower quality pocket knife, and Gerber didn't disappoint. The blade is super sharp, and the large hole allows a much better grip than a standard handle, and allows you to keep fingers out of the way when cutting through tougher materials like thick plastic. It's lightweight, sturdy, and balanced. Clip keeps it securely in your pocket or on your belt but is easy to grab when you need it. The one small drawback is that it's tricky to open with one hand right out of the package. The handle seems to be press-fitted to the blade, and while it does loosen a bit over time allowing one-handed opening, some torx screws to adjust it immediately would be nice. I'd definitely recommend this knife. High quality, sturdy, will cut through just about anything, and offers a far superior grip.
Difficult to open not a one handed knife for sure
