Gerber Gator 20th Anniversary Knife Set
20th Anniversary Gator knife set (1991 - 2011)
The Gator family of knives, first introduced in 1991, revolutionized knife design with their simulated alligator skin textured handles that were durable, comfortable, and lightweight. In the year of inception, the Gator was voted the "Most Innovative Knife Design" by cutlery companies around the world. Gator knives were the first to successfully combine a hard inner core handle with a soft rubber outer shell. The patented Gator grip technology is the result of a strong inner core of fiberglass filled nylon surrounded by an outer shell of slip resistant, corrosion proof Kraton rubber providing a sure grip in even the wettest conditions.
The 20th Anniversary Gator knife set includes three best sellers from the family:
• Gator Drop Point fixed blade knife - introduced in 2001
• Gator Clip Point Folding sheath Knife - introduced in 1991
• GatorMate Clip Point Folding sheath Knife - introduced in 1992
Each Knife in the set features a S30V stainless Steel blade, the famous patented Gator grip handle and a black leather sheath. Knives are made in the U.S.A.

In 1939 Joseph Gerber hired a local knife maker to build 25 sets of kitchen cutlery to be given as Christmas gifts. The knives were so popular that Joseph Gerber left his advertising agency to start Gerber Legendary Blades®. The unique style and high quality manufacturing of Gerber cutlery soon developed wide spread acclaim. In fact, Gerber Legendary Blades are the only cutlery on display in New YorkÂs famous Museum of Modern Art.
From very early on, Gerber collaborated with top knife designers, setting a standard of quality for everyone else to follow. Renowned designers such as Al Mar, Bob Loveless, Paul Poehlmann, "Blackie" Collins, William Harsey Jr. and Ernest Emerson have all designed knives for Gerber. In 2002 this tradition continued as Gerber released the Silver TridentÂ, designed by Chief James "Patches" Watson (U.S.N. Ret.) and Bill Harsey Jr.
Today, Gerber continues to design and manufacture unique, high quality outdoor recreation products. In 2003 we are proud to introduce the next generation of multi-tools: the Recoil Auto-Plier. By constantly utilizing new technology and innovative design to develop new products, Gerber continues to be an industry leader.
