This is a frame-lock knife with smooth, reliable deployment and innovative tactical coatings. The Bones is a modern and high-tech design, with special attention to ergonomics, including a curved handle with grip points. These grip points are built-in at three critical pressure points to ensure a secure grasp. The blade is partially serrated for added performance. So, I 'knew' that it was a small knife because the measurements were given - guess that did not translate to 'real world' in my mind at the time - but it is a small knife, really too small to meet my particular needs. It is also my first 'tanto' style blade, and having seen/used it for a little bit, enough to show me that I really prefer the classic 'drop point' blade profile for my every day use. All that being said - it locks up solid, works well, and should make a nice, little college dorm room utility knife for my grand daughter.
