The CRKT Fossil looks like it's fresh from an excavation site. Its prehistoric curves can be likened to a fossilized dinosaur tooth while the handle looks like it was ossified after millions of years beneath the earth.

It's hard to do, but the knife expertly balances art with functionality.

Created by knife designer Flavio Ikoma, the Fossil features an IKBS ball-bearing system and a flipper opening mechanism, so even though the knife looks like a fossil, it's not outdated.

The knife itself is a large 8.88 inches when engaged and features a 3.96-inch, 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade with a drop point. Other versions of the Fossil have Veff serrations and a black EDP blade, but this version has a satin finish plain edge blade.

The handle is made of 2Cr13 stainless steel with a hammer finish that gives it more personality, and the two-tone G10 scales add more grip. Aside from just looking good, the handle feels natural in the hand. It also comes complete with a one position pocket clip.

Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), is a Tualatin, Oregon-based manufacturer of knives, tools, and accessories founded in 1994.

CRKT means Quality. All CRKT knives and tools are built incorporating the most advanced equipment and production systems available, and quality is controlled from beginning to end. Knives are built the way they should be built—without compromising quality in any part of their creation. CRKT accessories are crafted to the same standards as the knives, so that each sheath, for example, lives up to the customers’ high expectations.

Sport & Work Knives

CRKT continues to "think outside the box" by seeking out new and unique designs and mechanisms, just when everyone in the industry thinks they have seen it all. For example, the company is introducing the tiny McGinnis Shrimp, the

Gekkota Pocket and Golf, the ExiTool, Ta-Bar Tool, Norfork Diver and Whitewater, and Klecker NIRK— all exciting and unusual. At the same time, it continues to broaden it’s traditional knife models, including for the first time, Classic pocket knives, as well as the Centofante Tribute, Carson M4-02 series, and the Delegate and Vertex lines.

More natural and premium materials.

CRKT is continuing to specify the natural and premium materials that are common in the best custom knives, including more knives

with layered Micarta, G10, stag, jig bone, white bone, ram horn, and hardwoods such as thuya root, cocobolo, ebony, walnut, and burl.

CRKT Limited Lifetime Warranty: This warranty covers any defects in materials or workmanship. If one of our knives ever breaks or fails because of material or manufacturing defect, we’ll replace the knife. This warranty runs as long as you own your knife. Coverage ends if you sell or otherwise transfer the knife to someone else, or if your CRKT knife is modified in any way.

I've always liked CRKT and had a smaller pocket knife made by them. Once I got this one I realized I REALLY loved the quality of CRKT knives. I love this knife!!! I carry it in my pocket, and despite it being larger, it fits very well in all of my jeans. I do purchase jeans w/longer pockets though because I carry 2 knives on me at all times. One in each pocket. This knife is by far my favorite out of the ones I use. It really does hold a nice sharp edge for a long time, and I do use it a lot. I don't have to sharpen it as much as I do w/some of my other knives. The blade flips out with such ease, doesn't take much pressure at all. I love the "click" it makes; you can hear the quality in the sound. Overall, this is truly a WONDERFUL knife and is stunning to look at. The texture on the G10 handle is very unique! It's a looker for sure--pure beauty in it's design. I would highly suggest this knife for anyone wanting a larger pocket knife to carry and use. I've had mine forever and nothing has gone wrong with it!! I do take good care of it but needless to say, it TRULY is WELL MADE!!!

Beautiful and well made. It came out of the package razor sharp. Even though it's made overseas the quality is top notch. I bought three of them and gave two to my sons. They love them. If you want a well made different looking knife, this is it!

Very nice item. It was bought as a present for my son's military graduation and he carries it with him everyday. As always, product was shipped quickly and knife itself is of excellent craftsmanship. It wont be my last purchase.

Knife is large for a pocket knife. Feels good in the hand and looks good. The pocket clip is wimpy for a large knife. First time I carried it, the clip bent like a paper clip when I sat down. I had to remove the clip and bend it back. CRKT sent me a new clip but it was just like the first one.
