Ladies and Gentlemen, this is not a $700 1/4 inch thick survival knife made out of unobtainium and coated with titainium-nickel-boron-phosphate pixie dust, it's a fifty dollar SOG licensed and Taiwan built knife that will do absolutely anything the average Outdoorsman or Woman needs from a good Camp knife or a small machete but You HAVE to service the edge as soon as You get it if You want it to perform, like cutting saplings up to 2 inches thick and other extreme chores. Like any good steel blade, it will only function well if You maintain the edge and avoid cutting the dirt as much as possible. I've had mine for over a year and while it isn't as attractive as it was when new, it is still 100% functional and My high dollar knives are still Brand new because of the SOGs durability and it's ability to hold an edge. The surprising comfort and grip ability of the handle is a welcome bonus in a knife that's used wet often. If You don't need a status symbol on Your belt, buy a couple of these to bolster Your defenses and put one in each vehicle or bug-out bag because You can.

I love this knife! I have quite a few knives now but this one is my favorite. It has a lot of great features and is very impressive to look at. It's a real beauty & pretty light considering the size of the knife.

I bought it to use in the oil field and it went through a 1300 degree shop fire melted the handle but amazingly still held an edge after word and with some electrical tape got another two yrs of hard service out of it before selling it.

Only major concern is the thickness of the blade. I bought it to have as a companion during metal detecting in wooded areas so I won't be using for survival purposes. Honestly it's a nice looking knife, but for hard duty work I feel the blade will bend.

Knife is okay not as strong and sharp as I would liked a survival knife to be but will work for a short term time in the harsh environment that I operate in.

I was sorely disappointed with this knife. Maybe I watch to many survival shows on TV. But I sure thought, I might be able to clean hack (carefully) a sapling 3/4 inch diameter with this knife in order to make a walking stick. Apparently not. This put a nice deflection in the blade of the knife.
