To begin with, I have always used a Schrade knife for my personal use since I received one for my birthday when I was 12. Whenever someone needs a knife they look to me. They ask Richard do you have your knife with you? If I have my pants on I have my knife with me. Great little knife, great service quick delivery can't ask for more than that. By the way I am 70 now

I have used this model knife for decades. I find it impossible to live without a jacknife and this model has served me well over the years. Easy to sharpen and carry. I'd probably still have my first one if it had a homing device. I've dropped them many times without a chip although like most knifes the blade will snap if you try to use it as a tiny pry bar. Love it.

I have a 3 blade knife - almost exactly the same as the Schrade Middleman, but had never seen the same knife in a Schrade Brand. Just couldn't resist - had to have the Schrade. Now I have two of almost exactly the same knives, except, the one I got from you is branded Schrade. Appreciate your prompt service and the knife that I always wanted.

I carried one for many years and then someone else figured they needed it worse than I did. It was stolen. It was a great little all around handy knife and I really love this one, Cause after twenty years my other one wasn't this pristine and neat. This one feels like an old friend already and the quality has not been compromised. Great product.

I purchased this knife to replace the same model that I lost. I had my old knife for 15+ years and was very pleased with it. My new knife is every bit as good as the 1st one, even though it is made overseas.

Before we got married 38 years ago, I bought my husband this same knife. When the blade came off in June I went looking for another one and found this one. Thank you so much for carrying these knives and I hope to have this one just as long.

I purchased the 2 knifes for my Grandsons. I have carried this same knife for at least 47 years. It was used and abused almost everyday. I had sharpened the main blade so often that it was very small. It only lasted 30 years, then I bought a new one. It is a great knife.

I had owned another of this same stock number for many years. I am a farmer and use knives for many things. I had no trouble with my first knife other than routine blade sharpening. I accidentally put the knife in my pocket when leaving on airplane and it was confiscated at the terminal. So, I ordered a new one and plan to have it for many more years.

I've used the "Old Timer" model for, I'm guessing, 20 + years and they've been dependable. I've bought some because they've worn out but mostly because I loose them. I was disappointed to see that they're no longer made in the USA.

A little smaller than I expected, but still perfect for the sentimental reason that I bought it. I bought a larger size one for my son, and he loves it!

January 22, 2009

I purchased this knife for Christmas presents for the last 2 years and my husband and son both love this knife. It is the only pocket knife my husband will use. It is the perfect size and a perfect fit for his hand because of it has grooves on the knife for a better grip. Thanks for a great product. I will be a regular customer.

This item was purchased as a gift for my father. He is a farmer, and only uses "certain" types of pocket knives. The Schrade Middleman 3 Blade pocket knife is the one he requested to replace the one he lost on the farm.

Schrade, in my estimation, produced the finest cutlery in America. Although, I was disappointed when the company moved its fabrication operations to China, but the quality of its products remained at the same high level. I lament the fact that the company, after a hundred years of excellence, could not survive in today's economy, another instance of the negative impact of global economic competition. As long as they are available for purchase, I will continue to acquire Schrade knives.

I had to order 3 times to get the 2 1/2 inch 3 blade knife that I had lost. I made all the mistakes because I am dyslexic and not too good with numbers. Your Lady was so kind to finely help me pick out the correct "Old Timer" knives I was looking for. I had ordered the wrong size and she personally caught my error and herself corrected my order so I received the correct knives. Thanks to her I now have 3 knives to replace the 30 year old original. I have put two aside as gifts to my 2 sons so these boys can experience the love of the knife I held so dearly for 30 plus years. Thanks you folks for stocking these keepsakes. I tried 4 local retailers all of which said they didn't stock my particular knife any more.

I had one exactly like this one for over 30 yrs. Went fishing one day & my son asked to use it to cut some line. Next thing I know,we were 2 hrs from that spot. I asked for my knife back.He was in awe! Yes he forgot it on the bank @ the fishing Spot! Well I tried a few other brands because I couldn't find another "OLD TIMER" Then I thought about the internet. As soon as I spotted it,I ordered it @ that moment. It is comfortable to use and a comfortable fit in my jeans. I have cleaned fish, deer, etc, with this little knife. I haven't found another to keep an edge as this one ether! Thank you all for keeping the tradition up,with the OLD TIMER BRANDS! OLD TIMER is the best knives in the world to me,anyway! Thanks again!

I have owned Schrade knives in the past and found them to be quality products. I was especially pleased to find these knives have carbon steel blades which hold an edge much better and longer than the stainless steel ones.

I was pleased from the beginning I placed my order. My knife was mailed to my home in a timely matter and the knife itself I bought as a gift and he is particular when it comes to knives. He was very pleased with his knife :) He always carries a pocket knife with him but he lost his old one. So now I know where to go to order if ever he looses his knife again. We are both very pleased and Thank You!

The Imperial Schrade Old Timer is perfect for field dressing deer then skinning the deer once I got home. It's small enough to fit in the palm of my hand and carry's easily in my purse. Having the three different blades makes this Old Timer more versatile for me!

I have carried one of these for nearly 40 years. I have 2 that are 30 years old. The price has gone up and the fit and finish isn't up to the previous standard (the handle rivet has rough ends), but I wouldn't carry anything else.

July 19, 2007

I have used a smaller version of this knife for years. It has high carbon steel blades. Yes these blades hold an excellent edge for a long time. I am very satisfied with the performance of this old knife, however I am older now and needed a larger knife for my older hands to hold on to. This knife has the great size, shape, blade shape and weight that expected. Since I do a lot of woodcarving, I need a blade that takes and HOLDS an edge.

The Old Timer 3-blade whittler arrived within just a few days. I was disappointed to see that it is manufactured in China (unlike the older Old Timer brand knives) and the blades were not very sharp out of the box. It will take quite an effort to get them as sharp as I would have expected them to be for a good whittling knife. Overall, it seems to be a sturdy and durable knife.

By Sam M. from Fillmore, CA

The knife is not quite what I thought it would be. It's stainless and made in china.
