Gerber Multi-Plier 600, Bluntnose, Black - 07520
The Gerber Multi-Plier 600 will make you feel like the most useful person on the planet. If someone needs a measurement in a hurry, use the built-in ruler. When you're stuck with a can and no opener, use the bottle/can opener combo. Can't find a flat head screwdriver? Choose from an array of flat head screwdriver sizes.
We could go on, but this blocky multi-tool boasts a nearly endless amount of uses. The key feature of the Multi-Plier 600 is the bluntnose one-handed opening pliers. Embedded in the pliers are replaceable tungsten carbide wire cutters. This is just another indication that this multi-tool is built to last.
The entire tool is made from black-finished high-quality stainless steel and will stand up to pretty much anything you throw at it.
In 1939 Joseph Gerber hired a local knife maker to build 25 sets of kitchen cutlery to be given as Christmas gifts. The knives were so popular that Joseph Gerber left his advertising agency to start Gerber Legendary Blades®. The unique style and high quality manufacturing of Gerber cutlery soon developed wide spread acclaim. In fact, Gerber Legendary Blades are the only cutlery on display in New YorkÂs famous Museum of Modern Art.
From very early on, Gerber collaborated with top knife designers, setting a standard of quality for everyone else to follow. Renowned designers such as Al Mar, Bob Loveless, Paul Poehlmann, "Blackie" Collins, William Harsey Jr. and Ernest Emerson have all designed knives for Gerber. In 2002 this tradition continued as Gerber released the Silver TridentÂ, designed by Chief James "Patches" Watson (U.S.N. Ret.) and Bill Harsey Jr.
Today, Gerber continues to design and manufacture unique, high quality outdoor recreation products. In 2003 we are proud to introduce the next generation of multi-tools: the Recoil Auto-Plier. By constantly utilizing new technology and innovative design to develop new products, Gerber continues to be an industry leader.
This knife opens easy, i carry the knife every day.
Now that I have lost mine I feel out of balance. This is by far the best multi-plier that I have ever owned or used. The replaceable carbide cutters are simply wonderful. I will order a replacement immediately
There were no scissors. That's kind of a bummer. And when you first start using it, there's all kinds of black dust that gets all over yours hands and is really hard to wash off. The dust goes away after a few days of use. The knife blade tool has an unusual shape and can be difficult to open at first. More screwdriver sizes than you need. However, it's really bloody durable. I'd bet decent money this thing doesn't ever break within my lifetime. It's certainly holding up to brutal usage in Africa well enough and aside from lacking scissors, it's got basically all the tools you're likely to need from one of these things. The one-handed opening is nice, crisp, and makes a rather satisfying sound and tends to be really quite convenient.
